Born Solly Mosetle, on November 1st 1983 in Krugersdorp (the west of Johannesburg). Sol Stringer's birth as the sixth of seven children was almost symbolic of his fate, as the vocalist and musician who now calls his 6 string instrument guitar his mouthpiece. Sol Stringer's passion for the arts began while he was still in primary school, penning the lyrics to his favourite songs in his musical book, which he safely guarded in a brown suitcase.
High School was a defining moment for the now popular musician, as it was during this time that he not only discovered his love for ice hockey (which he has Gauteng Provincial colours for) but also got introduced to the rock sounds of Lenny Kravitz, Blink 182 and Aerosmith. The sound of "screeching guitars" caught his ear so much that he decided to enrol at South West Gauteng College, where he learnt to play guitars. This would also be the place where he would meet his fellow band members from the group "Malice". The group enjoyed a 2 year stint together, rocking out at venues such as Blues Room, Cool Runnings and Roxys. After "Malice" disbanded, Sol decided (much to his parent's delight) to rejoin a church band. The Musical Director of the band at the time introduced Sol to deejays from the Durban scene which opened further doors for him to session for artists such as: Khuli Chana, DJ Zinhle, Danny K, Big Nuz, Mobi Dixon and the late Lulu Diana amongst others. It was during this time that Sol met former musical ensemble "Muzart", whose sound took over the radio waves and caught the attention of international artists such as the SpiritChasers who made an official remix of their song.
After experiencing great success and traveling extensively with the band, Sol decided to leave the group and pursue a solo career. This move will see him exposing his other talents, such as singing, songwriting, producing and acting. He has also collaborated with industry heavy weights, namely; DJ Clock, Anati, The Muffinz and MNK; Recently collaborated on a song with DJ Clock featuring Ntu2ko, the song was on high rotation on radio stations nationwide and the music video got a lot of airplay on popular music tv channels. Also not forgetting his guitars on Dj Rabs Vhafuwi's latest album and a single they've done together called Memories.
He can also be seen in the local Movie titled: "She Is King" alongside silver screen blue bloods: Khanyi Mbau, Khabonina, Aubrey Pooe, Sophie Ndaba and Hlomla Dandala. Currently Sol is working on his "neo uban electric" album titled: Stringing Out Loud. He has just recently launched his latest second single "BELIEVE" The music video for the single is done so watch out for it on your screens. Hes also done a collaboration with close friends uFazinator prone Cuban Shikargo on a song called "Beautiful Mama"
